Tail Fins and Chrome

Host of Tail Fins and Chrome, Jake, prides himself on being an automotive aficionado.  Legend has it he was born in a salvage yard, right here in the state of Florida.  Jake enjoys traveling coast to coast to bring all things car-related to his viewers.  Whether it’s interviews with auto experts, local car shows and the stories behind some amazing gems, and pretty much everything in-between, Jake will be found having a good time.  By his outfit, one can tell he loves rockabilly, the good old days and fedoras.  He also co-wrote the theme song to the show!  It’s not uncommon to find Jake cooking kettle korn or playing guitar with the local music talent at a car show.  Jake has a huge soft spot for people who take part in “Good Deeds at High Speeds” and in 2009, he spent much of his time at charity events including “Trunk or Treat” and Mason Dixon’s Christmas Wish Foundation.  If you see Jake and have a great story to share about your classic car, make sure to let ‘em know!  He is always looking to share the human interest side of car collecting with his viewers.

The Marvin Show

Big Brother led to a short role on CBS’s Young and The Restless. After Y & R, Marvin’s love of cooking continued and he decided to produce his own cooking show. A copy of this show was sent to World Famous Celebrity Chef Rachel Ray and  Oprah’s Harpo Productions. Rachel saw the show and invited Marvin to compete in her cooking competition on The Rachel Ray show where he competed for 4 episodes. After  The Rachel Ray Show, Marvin decided to produce The Marvin Show. What is the Marvin Show? Well, if Howard Stern was black and could cook… this would be his cooking  show. Marvin might say anything on the show and will take a shot at anybody from Starr Jones to Tiger Woods. The show has more beeps than a Jerry springer episode. It is an anti-establishment show that will always make you say "I can’t believe this is on TV."  It’s the 1st real man’s cooking show that is not afraid to put some grease in some food. If you want low calorie, you better watch Bobby Flay. If you want deep fat fried and you wanna split your side laughing, then you'd better watch The Marvin Show. The show is fast paced and is the only show on tv that cooks live from start  to finish with all outtakes left in and if something gets burnt , it still makes it on the air. If he says a four letter word, it makes it on the air. The show gets  rolling with Marvin giving the menu for the night and getting you caught up on the news. Some past dishes included  the 10,000 calorie Luther Burger. If you wanna stop your heart quick and die happy, try this. A double bacon cheeseburger between 2 doughnuts. He then gives you a  brand new drink or shot to try. Afterwards he cooks a couple quick dishes that are cooked in 25mns and for under $20.  After the dish is done he has a guest up to taste the food and give an honest opinion. Along the way he always has a wise crack and crazy banter from his sidekick , his “Hot camera Girl.” And how could we forget…The ebonic word of the night! If you ever wanted to know the meaning of some of the ghetto words you hear people say but was afraid to ask…we got you covered!!!  It’s country, it’s ghetto, it’s cool, it’s hip, it’s hot, it’s THE MARVIN SHOW. The show has beat out every show it has come up against in North and South Carolina in the ratings... Now it's on TUFF TV!!!!  Are you TUFF ENUFF to watch?! The first cooking show by a real man for REAL MEN.

Heartland Poker

What is the HPT? The Heartland Poker Tour was created for what we like to call "regular" poker enthusiasts. You won't find any $10,000 buy in tournaments here. Conversly, HPT events are built around relatively inexpensive "qualifiers" that feed the main event. In most cases, 80% of the main event fields get their seat by advancing in one of the popular qualifies. These qualifiers are essentially large field satellites where players start with 10,000 chips and a decent structure with the goal of winning a seat into the main event. In 2009, all HPT events will have several Qualifiers that will advance either 20% or 30% of the field. Also, in 2009, we're going to start running what we call Super Qualifiers. These "supers" will be even less expensive and will advance either 10% or 15% to the main event. In describing the Heartland Poker Tour, we often times refer to it as a "fishing trip." that may sound strange, but when you come to an HPT event, you'll know why. Our events are very casual and a great atmosphere to make friends and have a good time. We call it a fishing trip because it's a chance to spend your weekend with some buddies, relax, play some cards and in general have a good time. At the end of every event, our goal is that everyone who played had a good time, win or lose. How It All Started? The Heartland Poker Tour sprang from the imagination of long-time friend and business associates Greg Lang and Todd Anderson. Four years ago, these Fargo, ND natives were taking an interest in tournament poker and one night were lamenting the fact there were very few tournament opportunities in their area and certainly noting with a shot at playing on TV. They estimated that there were many people who felt as they did and there was a market for a TV show that catered to "regular" poker players. So, in February of 2005, the Heartland Poker Tour was born. In October of that same year, the very first episode of the Heartland Poker Rout aired on stations in Chicago, Minneapolis, Fargo, and Duluth. The growth of the show exploded and within months, more and more TV stations had picked up the syndicated show. Today, the show airs on over 100 TV stations nationwide and is available in 75 million U.S. households. While the HPT has matured into a national brand as well as a "big time" poker tour, the founders of the HPT are constantly working to not only make a better TV show, but to provide a great experience for the players as well as the hosting casinos. As it was in the early days, both Anderson and Lang can be found mingling among the players at every HPT event (and losing money at the cash tables!). Tournament schedules and structures are constantly scrutinized to provide the best possible experience for the tournament goers. Thousands of players across the country have experienced an HPT event and by the looks of things, thousands more will have a chance to play in the years to come.
